Program Description:
2017-2018 Global Titans Leadership Program (GTLP) 
This CSUF program co-sponsored by Southwest Airlines includes a May 2017 study abroad experience in Baja California Sur, Mexico (La Paz region) with activities to follow on the CSUF campus from June-December 2017.

GTLP participants will engage in study abroad program development and outreach activities.  Specifically, students selected to participate in the 2017-2018 program will be members of an interdisciplinary team who:

*       Are enrolled California State University, Fullerton in spring 2017 and fall 2017

*       Attend a program orientation meeting and 2-3 follow up meetings during the spring 2017 semester

*       Participate in a study abroad experience to Baja California Sur, Mexica from 22-27 May (tentative dates) that includes meeting with organizations and participating in community-based activities focused on environment and community development

*       Participate in a documentary (narrative, film) that showcases the development, advocacy, and facilitation of these study abroad experiences and the planning of study abroad programs for future student groups

*       Commit a minimum of 5 hours per week to program development and study abroad advocacy activities from June-December 2017

*       Submit structured reflections based on program experiences

Program Costs
  • International flight is provided by Southwest Airlines at no additional cost to selected participants.
  • Lodging support is provided by University Extended Education/International Programs & Global Engagement at no additional cost to selected participants.
  • Selected participants must confirm participation by placing a $250 deposit within seven days of acceptance notification (applied to taxes, designated meals, and program components).
  • Students are responsible for any additional meal or personal expenses.

Nominated students can apply by clicking on the 'Apply Now' link in the top right corner of this page.  Applicants will be contacted by an IPGE member to also schedule an in-person interview.  

Students selected to participate will include:
  • Nominated study abroad returnees who have leadership potential, demonstrate teamwork skills, have the ability to inspire and engage peers, and be flexible, adaptable, and reliable.
  • Spanish language proficiency is not required but would be an asset in the international setting.  
Academic Credit
This is a non-credit program, however, opportunities for earning academic credit in association with program experiences will be discussed after participant selection.
